Acaricide

Mite prevention and control in livestock facilities

Mites can find favourable conditions for development in livestock facilities, especially in cracks, joints, equipment and other hard-to-reach areas. Their presence can affect animal welfare and become a persistent problem if preventive action is not taken where they hide and multiply. Livestock acaricides add a specific action against these organisms to pest control programmes. Correctly identifying risk areas and applying planned treatments helps to limit their development and prevent infestations from reaching levels that are difficult to control.

Treatments adapted to the critical points of each facility

Mite control requires the strategy to be adapted to the animal species, the type of facility and the characteristics of the pest. In poultry facilities, certain mites can hide during the day in cracks, joints and parts of the equipment, making them hard to control. In cattle facilities, environmental conditions and points where organic matter accumulates must also be considered in the preventive programme. Cleaning, regular inspection and application that properly reaches hiding places are essential to improve treatment efficacy. Combining these measures reduces the risk of reinfestation and maintains more stable control throughout the production cycle.
