Larvicide

Larval control to prevent insect proliferation

Effective pest control should not focus solely on adult insects. Acting on the larval stages interrupts the development cycle and reduces the emergence of new generations. A larvicidal insecticide is specifically designed to control larvae in areas where they find favourable conditions for development, such as areas with a build-up of organic matter, manure or moisture. Including this type of treatment in a preventive programme makes it possible to act before the adult population grows and helps to keep insect pressure under control in livestock facilities.

Larvicidal treatments adapted to the facility’s critical points

The efficacy of a larvicide programme depends largely on correctly identifying insect breeding and development areas. In cattle facilities, areas close to manure, bedding, damp areas and other points where organic matter accumulates need particular attention. Treatment should be combined with cleaning, waste management and measures to reduce the conditions that favour larval development. Regular, planned application at critical points interrupts the pests’ life cycle and complements treatments targeting adult insects, creating a more complete and preventive control strategy.
